Dr. Ollie L. Jefferson is a native of Southern California and has held positions in the entertainment and arts sectors. She worked as a teenage fashion model in Hollywood before gaining extensive film, television, and theater experience. Her expertise includes corporate television, nationally syndicated talk shows, reality shows, and television commercials. Fox Broadcasting Company, NewsCorp, MTV: The Real World and Road Rules, America's Black Forum, DirecTV, and NBA Entertainment are among the production companies on the roster. Dr. Jefferson is a trailblazer with a record of delivering results in all aspects of production and building, marketing, and managing businesses. She is a frequent guest speaker and lecturer in entrepreneurship, leadership, and communication studies.

Dr. Jefferson is an accomplished executive producer with a wealth of on-screen and behind-the-scenes expertise. The work of the award-winning artist exemplifies inspiring writing, acting, directing, and producingShe wrote plays and was a producer, director, and actor in multiple shows that were shown in more than 70 theaters, auditoriums, and venues for the arts and education. As an independent filmmaker, she produced and directed the Are You Ready music video, which was distributed nationally on the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS). She graduated from American University with a Master of Arts in Communication: Producing for Film and Video.

Time Will Tell: Stages I, II, and III by Ollie L. Jefferson is a trilogy of memoirs. She presented the adaptation alongside her daughters, Nailah and Miniya, at theaters such as the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The teacher-scholar-artist creatively imparts her life lessons through authentic portrayals of over a dozen personas in the audiobook version. Her transparent testimony as a first-generation college student speaks to diverse audiences from all walks of life. Dr. Jefferson's publications aim for social and systemic change as a social scientist who researched stereotypes at Northwestern University, studied abroad at the University of Wollongong in Australia, and graduated cum laude from Johnson C. Smith University (Honors College) with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She proceeded to obtain a doctorate and a master's degree in communication. Through her scholarly work, Dr. Jefferson aims to address issues that affect women and people of color—especially women of color—in the arts, media, and entertainment sectors. She coined the "exemplary representation" theoretical concept and model, which is a defining piece of her research.

Dr. Jefferson has been a communication studies professor at the University of Maryland in College Park, George Mason University, and Howard University. She takes pleasure in preparing seasoned pros as well as up-and-coming talent for the global marketplaces of publishing, theater, and film. Dr. Jefferson is certified in graduate women's studies and faculty preparation for colleges and universities. She graduated from Howard University in the top 1% of her class and obtained a PhD in Communication, Culture, and Media studies. Her academic work led to a featured story in HU! You Know! Dr. Jefferson expanded her scholarly research for worldwide publication a year after receiving honors for defending her oral dissertation with distinction. And as she wrote, It Ain't Over Yet!
